The chef behind Munch Hours

Niani L. Taylor is a life-long Brooklyn/New York native. Born at Brookdale Hospital in ’76; raised in East New York section of Brooklyn in Cypress Hills Houses (NYCHA) until 1992 when the family moved to Starrett City / Spring Creek.

Since 1998, Niani has been a resident of Van Dyke Houses (NYCHA) contributing to community service as a volunteer and a team leader with New York Cares working for Brownsville and East New York garden projects. In 2004 she received an A.A.S Degree in Marketing and Sales from New York City College of Technology (CUNY).

In 2007 she received B.A. in Communications from City College (CUNY). In 2015, Niani participated with NYCHA Food Pathways Program and received a scholarship to start a food business. Niani had a career as an Executive Assistant of Equity Research at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc on Wall Street until 2019.

Today she is a fulltime entrepreneur; owner and operator of Munch Hours, Inc; a catering business based in Brownsville, certified as a Minority Woman Business Enterprise, serving meals throughout the 5-boroughs of New York City
